Fairweather Supported Employment
Fairweather is a vocational program that provides
jobs to disabled persons. Fairweather accepts
referrals for employment for all disabilites.
Fairweather offers work in custodial, landscape maintenance and roadside litter services.
Both full and part-time positions are available for people returning to work or entering the workforce for the first time. In addition, LifeNet provides individual counseling through our Clinical Services (if wanted). Our approach gives positive and supportive work environments to our clients.
LifeNet has several partnerships that help place our clients, including Texas Industries For The Blind and Handicapped. Through these organizations, we contract jobs with places like the City of Dallas, and the Texas Department of Transportation.
TIBH helps contract services with state and local government agencies. Contracting government agencies get benefits from working through TIBH, including the ability to negotiate directly with Fairweather without having to go through a laborious bidding process. While competitive work is expected on the job, placement through these contracts is considered supported employment. This means 75 percent of the people working should have disabilities.
Fairweather also contracts with non-government agencies; new job opportunities are opening daily.
To create a safe environment, all referred clients must be over 18 years of age; we follow all Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines, as well. We are a Certified Rehabilitation Program.
For information about Fairweather or how to contract with LifeNet for janitorial or landscape services, call Chester Beans at 214-932-1980.
