Fairweather Supported Employment
The Fairweather vocational program plays a key role in Lifenet's overall success. Fairweather works in conjunction with TIBH (Texas Institute of the Blind and Handicapped) in obtaining government contracts through state and local agencies. Contracting government or local agencies receive benefits from working with LifeNet including to negotiating directly with Fairweather eliminating a laborious bidding process.
While providing excellent customer service to the customer, money is funneled directly back to the state through TIBH and provides employees a sense of self esteem and income.
Fairweather offers work in custodian, landscape maintenance, roadside litter services and construction.
In the custodial division alone, Fairweather cleans in excess of 750,000 square feet and employs between 60-105 people at one time. Fairweather custodial contracts include:
- City of Dallas
- City of McKinney
- City of Richardson
- Texas Dept of Transportation
- Health and Human Services of North Texas
Fairweather just completed the new construction in the new LifeNet Center at 9708 Skillman Street in Dallas. While you walk around visiting our facility tonight, please take notice of the Fairweather Crew’s work – an accomplishment of which we are very proud.
Fairweather is always looking to expand our scope of services so please keep us in mind for any current or future endeavors you may have or refer us to – custodial, landscape installation & maintenance, construction or demolition. Enjoy your visit to our facility!
Both full and part-time positions are available for people returning to work or entering the workforce for the first time. In addition, LifeNet provides individual counseling through our Clinical Services (if wanted). Our approach gives positive and supportive work environments to our clients.
Fairweather also contracts with non-government agencies; new job opportunities are opening daily.
To create a safe environment, all referred clients must be over 18 years of age; we follow all Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines, as well. We are a Certified Rehabilitation Program.
