LifeNet
helps individuals with Mental Illness, Chemical Dependency, Permanent Supportive Housing and Supported Employment.

Everyone deserves the chance for a better life and the resources to make it possible.

Current Needs

In the past, LifeNet has largely been supported by government programs and grants. However, with shrinking government funding we must look to individuals, churches, corporations and private foundations for almost half of our support.

LifeNet is not a “for profit” company, agency or hospital. LifeNet accomplishes its’ mission thanks to the generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations. It is the gifts of our partners that assist in providing mental health services and housing for hundreds of formerly homeless people living in LifeNet permanent supportive housing. Supported employment is provided for those who would otherwise be jobless. The following priority programs at LifeNet that are currently under funded:

Supportive Housing

Supportive Housing has provided housing for 316 clients this year. These include 131 in LifeNet Housing, with dozens more in Section 8 and Shelter Plus.Housing is in need of the following:
Starter kit of basic household supplies $50 each x 300 = $15,000 total (one basic household supply kit for each client beginning a new household in LifeNet Supportive Housing)
LifeNet needs your used Cell Phones. LifeNet is Recycling used Cell Phones, putting them to use as Emergency Phones in our Housing programs. Used Cell Phones can be dropped off at LifeNet Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm.

LifeNet has a Food Pantry to serve its clients and is always in need of Dry and Canned Goods. Food Pantry items can be dropped off at LifeNet Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm.

Clinical Services
Funding to cover shortfall of cost of psychiatric services, case management, individual and group training, life skills training and transportation.

LifeNet’s Fairweather Supported Employment trains and employs those who have been unemployed for various reasons. With Fairweather training and supervision, our clients become successful, self-sufficient, pay their own rent and become part of the tax base. Fairweather currently employs over 100, with almost half being disabled. Fairweather contracts include cleaning government, public and private buildings and landscape maintenance for multiple properties. These include the City of Plano, City of Dallas, Texas Department of Transportation, the Meyerson Symphony Center and the Bridge-Homeless Assistance Center. Fairweather is also in need of the following:

15-passenger Van: $32,500.00 for transporting Fairweather employees to and from their custodial and landscape jobs (present van is worn out with over 160,000 miles and is inadequate to transport a growing client population to and from work everyday)

Mowers, Small Tractor, Leaf Blowers, Lawn Equipment & Tools: $18,700 (with additional new contracts we need more equipment and need to replace worn out old equipment.) Small Trailer for transporting landscaping equipment: $3,500

General Administration
Our metroplex is a challenging field of service. In order to continue exponential growth and remain at the forefront of effectiveness, we must provide for the most basic essential needs. With shrinking public funding and a growing client base, virtually all of LifeNet’s capital needs have been totally ignored for the past several years. Our immediate needs include “in house” technology, phone system and office furniture:
Laptop Computers: $125,000 (much of current computers are out of date)
Office needs
Needs for all employees including lamps, Quality Artwork for Walls, Wall Clocks (Battery Operated); LifeNet’s employee break room needs Paper Towels, Napkins, Plates, Plastic and Styrofoam Cups and Plastic Knives, Forks & Spoons.
