“Being a client [at LifeNet] has made me for once feel like I belong to someone or something.” D.G.

“Because of LifeNet I’m not living in fear anymore. LifeNet helped me to get my life together and feel like a human being again.” R.H.

“Before I came here I was totally lost and giving up on life…. LifeNet has become my safety net, a place to come to get help but feel safe.” T.L.

“When I came to LifeNet I had been living on the streets for 6 years. I had been in the Salvation Army for 3 months when I came here. I received a feeling of hope for a new life for the first time in years. I got sober and was put in housing with another person in recovery, which has been very positive. My fiancé was recently murdered. Because of all the support from staff I did not have to drink. I am now off all my medication over 6 months. I have a relationship with my children and parents for the first time in 7 years and am in Section 8 Housing. I have never lived on my own before now. It has been a wonderful journey. I have been sober and free of illegal drugs for over 2 years. LifeNet has given me a whole new life. I have learned how to deal and cope with Bipolar and alcohol and drug addiction. LifeNet…what an appropriate name! LifeNet literally saved my life.” E. M.

"Before coming to LifeNet I wandered around aimlessly and my life had no direction. I had lost all hope. When I walked through the doors [at LifeNet] I was scared to death of the unknown. I was scared because I didn’t know how they would treat me, and what they would think of me. The people I encountered were friendly, courteous, caring, understanding, and encouraging. They made me feel like my mental illness wasn’t a bad thing or something to be ashamed of. They taught me it was just a part of my life and that I can live a happy normal life.

"When I first came here, I didn’t think I could get back out into the world after all the drinking and drugs. I didn’t think I could get a normal job. They taught me how to manage my mental illness as well as stay clean and sober. They gave me structure and guidance that enabled me to succeed. I now know I can enjoy life without drugs and alcohol. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to help me.

"Through the work program LifeNet offers I was connected with Fairweather where I am now a supervisor. They taught me how to problem solve and manage people.

"I look forward to my future with LifeNet as well as Fairweather. Thank you all for everything you do." P.P.

"I was forced by the courts to come to LifeNet's chemical dependency program, but my decision to stay was one of the best things I have ever done." D.G.
